Nintendo theme park, anyone?

Posted by admin on May 10th, 2015

Nintendo have announced that they’re teaming up with Universal Studios and getting into the theme park business. Oh. My. Bells.

Now, they’ve said for a while that they wanted to diversify their revenue streams and, with Wii U floundering somewhat, that was understandable… but who could have seen this coming? A Nintendo theme park is the sort of thing I, for one, have been dreaming of since I first played a Nintendo game. Just think of all the great stuff they could do: race karts around a replica Mario Kart circuit, grab a flashlight and explore Luigi’s Mansion, animatronic Pokémon safari… and perhaps a Brewsters Roost cafe with KK jammin’ out. There are so many possibilities!

The closest thing yet: Japan’s Pokémon-themed park, back in 2005

Of course, the chances are that this won’t be a theme park of it’s own, but more  a Nintendo Land section of an existing park. We’ll have to wait for more details to know for sure. But still… this is definitely something to be excited about. What’s more, Nintendo has announced that they’re finally in profit again – which can only be good news for the future.

What rides would you like to see at Nintendo Land? Let us know in the comments.

Note: Sorry about our absence, BR fans! We experienced technical difficulties for a while there, but now we’re back. Thanks for sticking with us!
